The National Physical Laboratory [NPL] requirement is for safe and robust human tissue sample preparation for our Mass Spectrometry Imaging analyses and for additional techniques within our department. We require a cryomicrotome (cryostat) with UV disinfection capability as well as a vacuum system to clean the equipment and a motor for motorized sectioning. The cryomicrotome must output reproducible, high-quality sections with a sectioning thickness range of 1-100 μm. The item will be freestanding, with an encapsulated, splash-proof microtome.
