GB-Edinburgh: Refurbishment and Upgrade of Cape Wrath Lighthouse - 2019

It is the Boards intension to award this contract to a single Contractor and it is envisaged that the successful Tenderer will co-ordinate the running of project works at Cape Wrath Lighthouse. Cape Wrath Lighthouse is situated on the most north-westerly tip of the Scottish mainland at Latitude 58o 37.6' N, Longitude 04o 59.9' W. The work which is to be included in the contract is as detailed below: (not an exhaustive list)

•Mobilise site - land water, oil, materials equipment and plant from NLV Pharos and helicopter. •Establish temporary accommodation camp.

•Excavate and form concrete base for solar array.

•Excavate track for cable ducts and chambers between control room and solar array. •Install solar array and ducts, build chambers and reinstate ground.

•Install solar instrument cubicles.

•Refurbish accommodation block as detailed.

•Clear all rubbish and material from site, demobilise.

Access to the lighthouse is by a 10-minute ferryboat crossing from Durness, across the Kyle of Durness, and then by minibus along a track for approximately 12 miles. The land between the Kyle of Durness and the lighthouse is used as a bombardment range.

Site Visit - A site visit is scheduled for 16 May 2019. Details are within the Tender Introduction document. This is weighted as a Pass/Fail within the evaluation criteria.
