description
The programme aims to help developing countries build stronger and more resilient health systems and make progress towards universal health coverage through improved health service performance for poor and vulnerable populations. The programme will achieve this by supporting the development of stronger health systems, with better governance, information, standards and management of health systems and better skilled health workforces. This building of institutional capacity will help countries, where appropriate, to transition to different forms of external assistance and ultimately to reduce longer-term need for external support.
