description

West Sussex County Council Healthy Child Programme 0-19 years (0-25 for young people with SEND).

The Council is considering a range of delivery models for this service when the current arrangements expire in March 2017, ranging from delivery of individual services to a Lead Provider arrangement. We The Council wishes to consult with all providers in the market, from all sectors, about options for the future delivery of the service.

The Council has identified the following outcomes for The Healthy Child Programme (HCP), these are linked to the West Sussex Children and Families Plan:

  • a)Children and young people get the best start in life, they are physically and emotionally healthy.
  • b)Children and young people are safe and secure.
  • c)Families are resilient and able to access support when they need it.
  • d)Children, young people and families succeed in learning, work and life.

In addition the current HCP is explicitly linked to outcomes for children, young people and families contained within the National Public Health Outcomes framework. Our aspiration is that the future HCP will be capable of delivering the best range of services which meet or exceed all of these outcomes.

A Provider Workshop is being held to explore the Councils options further. We are holding the event over two linked sessions on 10th March 2016 and 31st March 2016. It will provide an opportunity to find out more about the Councils commissioning plans for the 0-19 (0-25 for SEND) Healthy Child Programme and to provide feedback.

Interested organisations should express an interest in this opportunity in order to access further information on the service and workshops.
