The University wishes to procure a cost-effective scale-out or hybrid storage solution for current and future requirements of unstructured and archive data. Solutions such as Scality, Cleversafe, Ceph, Gluster, EMC Isilon, NetApp Clustered Data Ontap or equivalent products will be considered. Solutions utilising cloud resources to manage older data such as Microsoft StorSimple or equivalent products will also be considered. The University would like to engage in a partnership to provide a robust platform and the agreement must include any future purchases on the same platform over the next 5 years should we wish to increase capacity or performance or both linearly. Pricing should be made clear in terms of the initial investment, and presented in terms of ongoing costs when scaling the platform up. The initial expected investment for day1 requirements as listed in this document is between £0-295k inclusive of VAT. Over a 5 year period, there may be future investments to add capacity up to a value of £1m.
