Wycombe District Council Museum Works Electrical Installation

Wycombe District Council (“WDC”) intends to undertake alteration and improvements works to the grade 2 listed museum at Priory Avenue, High Wycombe, Bucks HP13 6PX. The works involve installation of a new lift within the fabric of the existing building, alterations to the existing layouts to form new education / learning spaces, new café and shop facilities and upgrading / renewing the existing mechanical and electrical installations.

WDC has subdivided the works into three key contracts:

1. General Building Works – including demolitions, concrete works, steelwork, plasterboarding, carpentry, finishes and decorations.

2. Mechanical Installation – heating including new boilers, hot and cold water, above ground drainage.

3. Electrical Installation – small power, lighting, fire safety systems.

This advertisement invites tenders from organisations which are interested in providing the Electrical Installation Works. These works are scheduled to commence on site 22nd June 2015 and be completed by 30th September 2015.

Only suitably qualified and experienced works package contractors will be considered for contract award.

WDC will not be responsible for the costs of any tender submission therefore the contractors must satisfy themselves that they have the necessary experience, qualifications and skills to meet the evaluation criteria. WDC are not bound to accept the lowest or any tender received.

This contract is being advertised alongside Tenders for the other two work package contracts. Tenderers may submit tenders for more than one works package contract but each must be submitted as a standalone tender in accordance with its own advertisement and ITT.

If an organisation does wish to submit tenders for multiple contracts with a discounted tender sum for each contract, these will be evaluated alongside individual works contract tenders and WDC reserves the right to appoint individual works contracts or multiple contracts in accordance with the evaluation processes stated in the ITTs.

The totality of the improvement works will be managed by a WDC appointed construction manager and if multiple contracts are awarded to the same tenderer that tenderer will not constitute a main contractor.
