SCC IC Initial Response Unit RFI

Surrey Fire and Rescue Service(SFRS) propose to explore a ‘proof of concept’ exercise to understand options of how we are able to maintain our legal obligations in an appropriate, value for money, delivery model that meets the needs of the resident and where possible enhances our current response methodology.

SFRS sees an opportunity to provide a response capability, appropriately equipped and crewed to attend smaller scale incidents and help to reduce risk or the potential for incident escalation, in a number of initial locations across the county. This approach should support a more cost effective, sustainable and reliable crewing model. As part of a successful concept package, a robust training plan and proof of safe systems of work are required.

The purpose of this RFI is to confirm interest from as wide a range of providers as possible in relation to proposals to support an initial proof of concept. Responses to the RFI will inform the final procurement specification.
