description

The main aim of this project will be to develop appropriate test for the diagnosis of Foot & Mouth Disease (FMD), to ensure that the routine diagnostic systems are able to respond rapidly to the threats of the continually changing nature of FMD virus incursion into the UK. The outputs from this project will provide Defra with increased confidence in using such assays for diagnosis and surveillance in the event of future outbreaks of FMD, and provide tools that can be used in post-outbreak surveillance to regain FMD-free status in the UK.
