The Group has a fleet of 9 fully owned coaches operating out of its base on Duchess Street, Grimsby. The coaches service the local villages and towns in North East Lincolnshire and East Lindsey collecting students for delivery to any of its campus sites and then returning them home again at the end of the day.
The coaches carry students from an age range of 16 to 19 predominantly.
Service Requirement is broken down as follows;
Coach Servicing
Vehicles to be serviced every 6 weeks – to include (but not limited to the following) to VOSA and PCV maintenance rules & regulations;

| • | Steam clean and present for annual test |
| • | Costs to include all services, materials & consumables |
| • | Roller brake test, test fee & trailer hire if require at MOT |
| • | Provide inspection and service sheets and to maintain a record or inspection dates |
| • | Application for Department of Transport or other inspections as required by regulations, preparing and submitting the vehicles (s) and/or equipment for such inspections as listed in the table below |
Breakdown
| • | In the event of roadside breakdown in the UK – arranging repairs, assistance in respect of the vehicle (s) and/or equipment as below to enable the vehicle to continue its journey or alternatively recovery can be arranged or provided |
| • | Response time to call-outs must be 60 – 90 minutes from receipt of call to attendance on site if the vehicle is in the North East Lincolnshire/East Lindsey areas. |
General Repairs
| • | Collect the vehicle from our main bus depot (located in Duchess Street, Grimsby) to return to your depot for repairs |
| • | Repairs at your fixed hourly rate |
| • | Materials/parts will be invoiced separately |
| • | For any repairs likely to be over £300 you will need to ring the Transport Manager for prior authorisation |
| • | Delivery of the vehicle back to our destination site |

The Grimsby Institute Group (The Group) is one of England’s largest providers of Further and Higher Education. With a rich history of developing innovative training and education solutions for the community, the Group comprises of the Grimsby Institute, University Centre Grimsby (UCG), Yorkshire Coast College (YCC) in Scarborough, Lincolnshire Regional College (LRC) in Skegness, The Academy Grimsby (TAG), which offers an alternative educational route for gifted 14-16 year olds, and Lincolnshire Rural Activities Centre (LRAC) in Louth.
Also located in Grimsby is the newest addition to the Grimsby Institute Group family, The Academy Grimsby, which provides a different route to employment for young people aged 14-16 years. This exciting new venture invites young people interested in gaining skills and qualifications in the Engineering & Care sectors to receive specialised training alongside traditional GCSE qualifications.
The Group wishes to partner with the successful contractor to continue to offer our students work place opportunities in one of three ways (placements are not limited to working on just the Group sites);
Apprenticeships – By taking a Group trained apprentice you would be able to take advantage of the Group’s free business needs analysis, provided with a recruitment model to be agreed, regular updates on candidate progress.
Traineeships – no financial implication to the successful contractor. Students would be placed for three days obtaining real work experience and two days with the Grimsby Institute Group. Work experience terms can be anything from two weeks up to six months. This would be fully supported by the Group

Our Workforce Skills team will provide a free business needs analysis and work with you to identify the most appropriate candidates for interview.
You may also be requested, as part of this contract to work with our Curriculum Managers to attend at one of our main locations to be involved in a workshop with students – this could be in form of a toolbox talk, general talk on how your business operates for around half an hour or some other form. You are required to indicate your return how you could assist with our classroom/student involvement.
Any supplier committing to any of the above and then not able to fulfill the requirement may lead to the contract being terminated early. It would be deemed that additional points were inappropriately apportioned and therefore not compliant with the Group’s purchasing process
