With a rich history of developing innovative training and education solutions for the community, the Group comprises of the Grimsby Institute, University Centre Grimsby (UCG), Yorkshire Coast College (YCC) in Scarborough, Lincolnshire Regional College (LRC) in Skegness, The Academy Grimsby (TAG), which offers an alternative educational route for gifted 14-16 year olds, and Lincolnshire Rural Activities Centre (LRAC) in Louth.

Also located in Grimsby is the newest addition to the Grimsby Institute Group family, The Academy Grimsby, which provides a different route to employment for young people aged 14-16 years. This exciting new venture invites young people interested in gaining skills and qualifications in the Engineering & Care sectors to receive specialised training alongside traditional GCSE qualifications.

The Group wishes to partner with the successful contractor to continue to offer our students work place opportunities in one of three ways (placements are not limited to working on just the Group sites);

Apprenticeships – By taking a Group trained apprentice you would be able to take advantage of the Group’s free business needs analysis, provided with a recruitment model to be agreed, regular updates on candidate progress.

Traineeships – no financial implication to the successful contractor. Students would be placed for three days obtaining real work experience and two days with the Grimsby Institute Group. Work experience terms can be anything from two weeks up to six months. This would be fully supported by the Group

Work experience – Students would spend up to two weeks with the successful contractor and be fully supported by the Group.

Our Workforce Skills team will provide a free business needs analysis and work with you to identify the most appropriate candidates for interview.

You may also be requested, as part of this contract to work with our Curriculum Managers to attend at one of our main locations to be involved in a workshop with students – this could be in form of a toolbox talk, general talk on how your business operates for around half an hour or some other form. You are required to indicate your return how you could assist with our classroom/student involvement.

Any supplier committing to any of the above and then not able to fulfill the requirement may lead to the contract being terminated early. It would be deemed that additional points were inappropriately apportioned and therefore not compliant with the Group’s purchasing process
