description
This role is intended to provide senior associate-level support in the Strategy Hub on the development of the Ofwat strategy. In May 2019 Ofwat published a discussion document on the draft vision for the sector and strategy for Ofwat. The document sets out emerging thinking about a new shared vision for the water sector and Ofwat's strategy for regulating the water and wastewater companies in England and Wales from 2020 onwards. In autumn 2019 we intend to publish the final vision for the sector and strategy for Ofwat.
Over the coming months Ofwat will be continuing to engage with stakeholders and review feedback following the discussion document in order to develop our thinking on key areas we highlighted in the draft strategy these include: innovation, social purpose, customers, asset resilience, environment and monitoring and insight. Internally we are also progressing work on these areas which will feed in to the outcome of the final strategy. On 12 July we published a consultation on our proposed innovation strategy: 'Ofwat's emerging strategy: Driving transformational innovation in the sector'.
We have identified the need for support in developing a number of policy areas identified. In doing so we expect the individual to be able to get up to speed on the current progress and to provide support on developing our approach through evaluating the current position, assessing risks and opportunities, engaging and managing stakeholders and delivering the policy outcomes we choose take forward.
As stated above, due to the nature of the strategy development work we can't confirm the policy area/s the individual will be working on and therefore we expect the individual to be responsive and flexible to the exact business need. As a result we are looking for transferable skills that could suit multiple areas that we have identified in the discussion document. The areas the individual will be working on will be discussed and agreed between Ofwat and the successful Contractor.
