Background Kent County Council (the council) is the largest county council in England covering an area of 3,500 square kilometres. It has an annual expenditure of over £900m on goods and services and a population of 1.3m. The Council provides a wide range of personal and strategic services on behalf of its residents, operating in partnership with 12 district councils and 289 parish/town councils. The Opportunity Staff Care Services (SCS), is inviting tenders from suitably qualified, competent and experienced providers of Physician Services. Staff Care Services (Occupational Health) are a nurse-led service, comprising a team of professionals and support staff who participate in the delivery of occupational health and wellbeing services to their Kent County Council staff clients. Occupational Health Physician Services are required to support the team in their delivery of the full range of Occupational Health Services e.g. fitness for employment, sickness absence, determination for ill health retirement for a number of pension schemes, health surveillance and vaccination programmes etc. The Occupational Health Physician Services provided will include involvement in devising Occupational Health policies and procedures.
