Public Health Medicines Management Advisory Service

North Yorkshire County Council wishes to invite suitably qualified and experienced providers to submit a quotation to provide a Public Health Medicines Management Advisory Service (PHMMAS) which will cover drugs and alcohol, sexual health, tobacco control, NHS Health Checks, Flu planning and Pharmaceutical Needs Assessment as a minimum. There may be a future requirement for support in additional public health areas. The Council is seeking to procure a high quality, rigorous and independent professional medicines management advisory service. The Consultancy Agreement will be for 0.2wte/ 7 ½ hours per week initially, to commence by 1st April 2015, and will be for a period of 2 years. There is scope to extend the hours provided within the agreement term by mutual agreement of both parties, in line with need. This Service will provide professional medicines management leadership, advice and support to the public health team on medicine related matters. This includes but is not limited to: advice and support in relation to public health commissioning activities; developing, authorising and implementing medicines related policy and protocols on behalf of the public health team; delivering training; leading medicines management related responses on behalf of the public health team, which may include those associated with complaints and queries linked to commissioned services. The Council expects applications from Pharmacists and/ or organisations which employ Pharmacists. Applicants must be able to demonstrate current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) by all personnel who will deliver this service.
