Offer for Tender

Children and Young Peoples Emotional and Mental Health Services

The aim of the service is to work closely with existing North Yorkshire County Council locality prevention areas to improve and strengthen the support (through a variety of methods) to children and young people in relation to emotional and mental health issues in schools. It sits in the targeted provision for children and young people.

The objectives for the service are to:

1.Offer support and advice to schools in relation to supporting children and young people’s emotional and mental health issues
2.Develop a tiered training offer to schools on children and young people’s mental health in order for staff to have improved knowledge and confidence in the subject.
3.Raise awareness among children and young people, school staff and parents/carers about emotional and mental health, emphasising resilience and well-being, reducing stigma, and increase young peoples and their families understanding of self-help, providing signposting to appropriate support.
4.Support schools to implement a whole school approach to emotional well-being with reference to national guidance for this.
5.Participate when required in multi-disciplinary meetings for specific children and young people to support emotional well-being and mental health
6.Offer time limited support and interventions to children and young people, which can be delivered through 1:1 work and group work and when required be supported by digital applications
7.Ensure protocols for referral, early intervention and support are clearly defined, agreed and followed between all agencies including primary care. This would include referral routes to specialist mental health service when appropriate.
8.Publicise the service to raise awareness with primary care and schools.
