Kedleston Rd, Boiler Replacement and CHP

The Services Contractor shall supply, install, test and commission the installations as detailed on the Tender drawings and within this specification, employing skilled personnel and specialist contractors as necessary to achieve the standards described.

The works include the supply, installation, testing and commissioning of new replacement boilers, builders work, CHP, chiller, BMS controls, back up HWS generation, new replacement pumps, new pipework and associated mechanical and electrical services within the East Tower and North Tower plantrooms at the University of Derby, Kedleston Road Campus in Derby.

The works shall also include the isolation, de-commissioning, strip-out and removal from site of the existing boiler plant, chiller, pumps, pipework control wiring and associated installations made redundant by the replacement boiler/chp/chiller installation.

The Mechanical Contractor shall supply, install, test and commission the installations as detailed on the Tender drawings and within this Specification, employing skilled personnel and specialist contractors as necessary to achieve the standards described. The works are to be carried out two phases, Phase 1 to provide direct gas fired HWS generation to cover the summer period and when commissioned and operational to remove the existing boiler plant, controls, pipework pumps and Install new boiler plant pipework, pumps, controls, pipework and chillers before 1st September 2015. Phase 2 to de commission the R22 chiller and remove, install the new CHP, complete the chilled water system and commission and then complete and commission the CHP by the 2nd November 2015.

Contract is to be MF/1

All of works are to be carried out to the agreed programme and completed by 02/11/15.

The project shall be phased to ensure minimum disruption is caused on site.

The contract intended programme requirements are appended to this section of the Specification.

Date for Commencement of the works (to allow plant lead-in periods): 11/05/15

Date for start on site: 11/05/15

Date for Completion Phase 1: 31/08/15

Date for start of Phase 2: 14/09/15

Date for Completion Phase 2: 02/11/15

The Services Contractor will be required to prepare a master programme and progress chart to clearly indicate how the work is to be carried out to completion within the period of the Contract.
