description
This tender is for the design, manufacture, supply and installation of 2 identical, horizontally deflecting, Double Crystal Monochromators (DCM) for use at DLS.
It should be noted that these monochromators deviate from the standard fixed exit Monos in that the exit beam offset varies with energy.
Each monochromator system should include liquid Nitrogen cryogenic cooling and 1 crystal set. All motors, encoders and limits should be included.
The tender document gives detailed technical specifications for the DCM system, guided by the properties of the source and assessment of available technology.
The DCM s must have a complete cryogenic cooling system and cryo-cooling unit. However, the Supplier may quote the cryo-cooling unit and distribution circuit as an option. If the Supplier chooses to do so, the cryo-cooling unit should be quoted as a separate item in the bid. The 2 cryo-cooling units may be sourced from a third party. If the Supplier chooses not to do so, each DCM must still be manufactured with all components (coolant pipes, connections etc.,) necessary for cryo-cooling the crystals once a separately procured cryo-cooling unit is connected.
