description

The council is seeking tenders from contractors who would wish to participate in a framework agreement to undertake emergency works on dangerous buildings for a period of three years. This period maybe extended for one additional year at the City Council’s discretion. This work is randomly generated and there is no guarantee of the quantity or continuity of work.

The nature of the work is such that dangerous buildings could occur during normal working hours: 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday, as well as outside normal working hours, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

The service requires the council to respond to reports of dangerous structures that are deemed an emergency. Where an emergency is confirmed, the councils Building Control Surveyors might request the services of the framework contractor(s) to assist the council in the immediate removal of the dangerous conditions.

This Framework has been broken down into two lots.

Lot 1 – Minor emergency works – window and door broken glass removal/boarding-up/open access securing services

Lot 2 – Major emergency works – the removal of all other dangerous conditions resulting from structural damage, including the partial and total demolition of buildings, and not being work indicated in work indicated in Lot 1.
