Birmingham City Council's Occupational Health and Safety Service is committed to protecting the health of the Council's employees and its traded partners, supporting the delivery of high-quality services to the citizens of Birmingham.
The team comprises specialist doctors (Occupational Health Physicians and Taxi Medical Doctors), Occupational Health Advisers, Physiotherapists and Cognitive Behavioural Therapists who offer impartial advice to managers on how best to support employees at work. This includes a wide range of advice to include clinical opinion on the effects of work on employees' health, and the status of an employee's health on the ability to fulfil their contracted job role. The team of Occupational Health Professionals are supported by a committed and professional Business Support team.
Services provided by the Occupational Health Service include:
- oManagement Referrals
- oCase management
- oComplex case facilitation
- oSickness absence advice
- oAdvice on rehabilitation programs and return to work
- oMedical redeployment and ill health retirement advice
- oHealth screening (including pre-placement health screening)
- oHealth Surveillance
- oCase conference
- oWorkplace assessments for health-related issues
- oPhysiotherapy and functional assessment
- oStress Audits
- oPsychological counselling assessment and 6 session model
- oProvision of a contracted Employee Assistance Programme
- oPrivate Hire and Hackney Carriage Driver Medicals
- oPrivate Hire and Hackney Carriage DBS checks
This requirement will be split into 2 separate contracts as per the lots detailed below:
Lot Service:
Lot 1 Occupational Health Practitioner(s)
Lot 2 Occupational Health Advisor(s)
This contract will be for a period of 2 years commencing mid July 2021 until July 2023.
