The University is looking to appoint a number of contractors to provide comprehensive Asbestos Consultancy Services in accordance with legislative requirements. This will include Management Asbestos Surveys, Refurbishment & Demolition Asbestos Surveys, Specification Writing, Bulk Sampling, Air Monitoring, Clearance Testing and associated works whilst providing expert advice at all times.

Asbestos analytical services will be required to various projects where asbestos works are being undertaken for the University of Manchester. Analytical services will be required during all licensable projects and during a selection of non-licensable abatement projects. The scope of monitoring requirements will be established on a project by project basis. Types of buildings will include residential areas, food courts, offices, estates areas, lecture theatres, laboratories and workshops etc. Analytical services will also be required for ad hoc and regular air monitoring as and when required.

Asbestos survey services will be required to various projects where refurbishment and / or demolition works are being undertaken for the University of Manchester. Specific Refurbishment & Demolition surveys will be required where insufficient or inappropriate survey information is available to support project proposals. The scope of these surveys will be established on a project by project basis. Types of buildings will include residential areas, food courts, offices, estates areas, lecture theatres, laboratories and workshops etc. Survey services may also be required to form the basis of quality assessment and comparison purposes.

Asbestos re-inspection services will be required to be undertaken on a periodic basis for the University of Manchester. Typically this will be required on a 12-18 monthly basis to ensure the ongoing condition of identified ACMs.

Duration of Framework Agreement - 24 Months plus 2 possible extensions of 12 months. Total possible duration of Framework Agreement = 48 months.

Framework Agreement is not open to any other purchasers other than the University of Manchester.
