description
First Stage - Market Engagement.
Leeds & York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is in the early stages of developing a specification of requirements for the provision of shredding and the recycling of confidential waste.
Prior to issuing this tender, we would welcome suggestions and feedback from suppliers within this market on available options to explore; ranging from traditional collection/shred, through to innovative closed loop solutions.
We currently have approx. 100 secure consoles across our Trust that are provided free of charge, and 5 large lockable containers held centrally. All containers are emptied periodically by the Trust's Logistics department (due to restricted access to NHS buildings) before it is brought to one secure storage location. The waste is then bulk shredded on site in the Leeds area (LS12).
Further to this, any future provision may also include confidential waste collected from Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust, potentially adding a further 100+ consoles to the current volumes.
As an example, each console holds approx. 50kgs, which may equate to an approx total of 10,000kgs to be bulk shredded.
Currently we have our waste shredded on request and not on a regular basis. As a minimum we would require a double shred mode (or equivalent) for added security, the required certificates of destruction. and reasonable response times to meet our current needs; but we invite alternative suggestions on how best to manage the process.
In future, the location of our central shredding collection point could possibly change, but would remain within Leeds area in any instance.
