description

The University of Salford (UoS) has made a strategic decision to proceed with the delivery of the Energy House 2.0 (EH2) building on the success of Salford Energy House 1.0. This new facility will allow the University to increase the scope of research by simulating extreme weather conditions from around the world, servicing the global construction industry. Following design development and Value Engineering, the scheme has been reduced in scale to ensure the key primary output of weather simulation remains. Whilst this is the case, some of the systems providing weather simulation are to be retrofitted at a later date.

The University has commissioned the production of a Masterplan, the purpose of which is to produce a development strategy that when implemented would create a more attractive, vibrant and successful campus.

The key strategies behind the emerging Masterplan set out a framework for the future of the University of Salford. These have been derived through consultation with the Estates & Facilities Department, Academic Heads and Deans as well as key stakeholders.

The shared ambition of the City and University is to create a high quality district of knowledge, innovation and creativity. The emerging Masterplan rationalises the organisational structure of the University.
