Newark & Sherwood District Council is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced consultant to produce the necessary measured surveys and archaeological analysis for the Gatehouse Transformation project at Newark Castle, Newark, Nottinghamshire. Specific work required is as follows: - A metric survey and analysis to support options for the insertion of roofs and floors that are compatible with the preservation of the fabric and multi-phase legibility of the Gatehouse - An analysis of how the Gatehouse has been monumentalised during the 19th Century repairs, including the partial re-opening of the Norman windows to the principal room - The recording of the buildings and features will be fully detailed and photographed to enable scaled drawings to be produced in accordance with English Heritage guidance on the measuring and recording of buildings and structures.
