description

This research will evaluate The Department for Work and Pension’s (DWP) current arrangements for learning from local labour market innovation. It will consider how this may be best structured and integrated within the DWP’s overall evidence base, drawing on external good practice.

This work will enable DWP, in the context of Civil Service reform, to better:-

  • promote innovation and improve the use of evidence in policy design and delivery;
  • ensure delivery expertise informs strategic regime design;
  • look outwards, drawing on expertise generated and/or held beyond central Government, and
  • tailor services to meet local needs/circumstances
