description
We are one of the largest property and leisure management, development and regeneration companies in the UK. In FY15/16 our turnover reached £616.6m and we achieved a profit before tax of £43.7m. More than 50% of Group turnover is now drawn from non-social housing activities. We now own or manage 152,783 homes and have assets in excess of £3 billion. We employ over 11,000 people and are active in 400 local authority areas.
We have a centralised function based in Preston, England. The principal activities of our Treasury are:
| • | Operations are focused purely in the UK, however foreign exchange risk exists as we have issued Private Placements in USD, JPY and EUR. |
| • | Cash management and intragroup funding. The funding of the group requires extensive administration by Treasury, with in excess of 50 intragroup loans. We also manage the funds across 254 bank accounts in 8 clearing banks. We have a project underway to move the clearing accounts to one clearer, however this will take some months to implement. |
| • | Debt issuance: 25 Bank loans ; 8 public bonds in issuance ; 8 Private Placements; 29 other external debt facilities. |
| • | Derivatives: 8 Cross Currency Interest Rate Swaps ; 1 Interest Rate Swap |
We have a Treasury Management System (TMS) in place in which we record our trades. The TMS functions as a deal database only.
We wish to acquire and implement a replacement Treasury Management System in order to
| i. | increase the efficiency of Treasury by automating processes; and |
| ii. | utilise improved functionality in the system in areas such as risk management and automated accounting. |
The scope of services to be purchased from the vendor will include:
| i. | Licence fees |
| ii. | Implementation fees |
