description
- The University is inviting contractors to submit tenders for the enabling works (primarily service diversions and connections, and piled foundations) for the installation of modular buildings (by others) to form a two-storey teaching laboratory block for the Faculty of Biological Sciences. This will provide high-quality undergraduate teaching space, with a design life of 10 years or more.
- The University has structured this Procurement based on a single-stage tender route. Suitably experienced contractors will be asked to submit tender pricing along with programme, methodology and proposed team. These will be scored on a cost (50%) and quality (50%) basis as set out in Annex 5.
- The University wishes to obtain further pricing for the option of procuring the modular buildings package via this enabling works contract, should that separate procurement exercise not provide a satisfactory award. However, this is only a contingency measure at this stage, and the core scope of works does not include the modular element.
