description

  1. The University is inviting contractors to submit tenders for the enabling works (primarily service diversions and connections, and piled foundations) for the installation of modular buildings (by others) to form a two-storey teaching laboratory block for the Faculty of Biological Sciences. This will provide high-quality undergraduate teaching space, with a design life of 10 years or more.
  1. The University has structured this Procurement based on a single-stage tender route. Suitably experienced contractors will be asked to submit tender pricing along with programme, methodology and proposed team. These will be scored on a cost (50%) and quality (50%) basis as set out in Annex 5.
  1. The University wishes to obtain further pricing for the option of procuring the modular buildings package via this enabling works contract, should that separate procurement exercise not provide a satisfactory award. However, this is only a contingency measure at this stage, and the core scope of works does not include the modular element.

Additional information: Is a Recurrent Procurement Type? : No
