description
The Site is located in the Village of Compton which is situated in the northern part of West Berkshire and sits within the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding National Beauty (AONB). The Site is bounded by Compton High Street to the south which comprises of some commercial premises but is dominated by residential properties. The east of the Site is bound by an area of residential properties with Hockham Road running along the north eastern boundary of the Site which comprises residential properties and farms. The north of the Site is bound by open agricultural fields and a bridle-path. The West of the Site is bound by Churn Road with a small pocket of residential properties at the south-western border of the Site.
The Site was formerly a research facility used to research and track viruses in farm animals, and comprises a collection of buildings of varying sizes, quality and ages in the north, and mainly open ground covered by grass (including a cricket pitch in the south-west of the Site), shrubs and trees.
Homes England are seeking to obtain outline planning permission for the development of the site, and to enter into development agreements to deliver such development.

The contract will be subject to English law. Tenders and all supporting documents must be priced in GBP and all payments under the contract will be made in GBP.
This procurement and award is subject to the transparency arrangements being adopted by the UK Government. These arrangements include the publication of tender documentation issued by Homes England and the contract between Homes England and supplier.
