description
Rushmoor Borough Council is seeking to appoint a specialist consultant to conduct a feasibility study into replacing the existing cremators at the
The Park Crematorium
Guildford Road
Aldershot
Hampshire
GU12 4BP
The Park Crematorium, Aldershot is owned and managed by Rushmoor Borough Council.
We have three cremators which were installed circa 2000, and currently hold 1700 cremations per year.
We are seeking a specialist and experienced consultant to give us advice and costings on the feasibility of replacing the cremators potentially within the next 18 months, or if it is more cost effective, remain with our existing ones.
| • | We would require a detailed condition survey of the current plant with a life cycle report to enable future decisions, together with an options appraisal and recommendations. We would expect this to include a review of utility costs both current and future, and showing energy comparisons. |
| • | We would expect a site visit to review and assess the existing equipment. |
| • | Review the current number of cremations and consider potential future demand due to the expansion of the local population. |
| • | To consider the change in the average physical size of the population and any implications for the size of cremators required. |
| • | To consider the suitability of the existing building structure to accept new cremators. |
| • | To consider the installation of abatement equipment and any adaptation/refurbishment to integrate with existing equipment. |
| • | We would also expect you to liaise with the Bereavement Services staff to consider all requirements of the cremation service and practical issues. |
If new cremators are recommended, we would expect to have no or minimal loss of service during their installation and the feasibility should be commented upon within the report.
New cremators would need to be compliant with the mercury abatement regulations.
An inspection and site visit is essential, as the Council will not accept additional fees because of the lack of familiarisation with the site conditions.
A site visit can be arranged by contacting
