The quantum technology transfer centre at the University of Birmingham, as part of the quantum hub for metrology and sensors, has contracted for a hydrogen maser:

At least one 10MHz output
At least one pulse per second (PPS) output
All outputs to be 50 Ohm impedance
Integrated battery power supply able to power the unit for greater than 12 hours in the event of mains power failure
Stability of <1E-13 at 1 seconds averaging time
Stability of <2E-15 at 10,000 seconds averaging time
Phase noise -120dBc/Hz or better at 1Hz offset, -150dBc/Hz or better at 1kHz offset
Magnetic sensitivity <2E-14 per gauss
Temperature sensitivity of <1E-15 per degree Celsius
Operational lifetime of 20 years or greater
Remote monitoring via platform agnostic computer interface.
Warranty period of >3years
Powered by standards UK plug and mains.
