description

NHS Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group (WCCG) is considering how to recommission an Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) Assessment and Diagnostic Service for Adults aged 18 and above within Wiltshire (excluding Swindon). In order to assist with their decision making process, they are looking to establish what interest there might be in providing such a service.

This service would need to accept GP referrals from around Wiltshire (excluding Swindon) for adults to be given a full assessment, diagnosis and outcome report against a defined specification. Although the service would primarily be for adults yet to receive a diagnosis, adolescents preparing for transition to adult services and requiring reassessment and/or a medication review, would also be included in the specification. Clinics for service users should be available within the Wiltshire area to ensure ease of access.

At this time, WCCG is reviewing the position with regard to prescribing and shared care in relation to an ADHD service. Interested parties should be aware that service provision may involve these elements of care.

Levels of activity against the specification are anticipated to be in the region of 80 new referrals and 30 transitions a year although this under review. The requirement for follow up appointments and the nature of these would need to be agreed during the procurement process. The anticipated value of such a service would be £120k per annum.

Please note this Prior Information Notice has been issued purely to gauge potential interest in the service, and at current is not part of any formal procurement process. Interested parties should note that a response to this Prior Information Notice does not guarantee being automatically invited to any subsequent formal procurement, which will be separately advertised in due course.

Additional information: Interested parties are asked to complete and return the attached provider sounding questionnaire by the return date of 26th February 2016 at 12:00pm to the following email address: procurement@swcsu.nhs.uk

Any queries should be directed to John Gibbs at the same address.
