description
The London Borough of Barking & Dagenham (LBBD) in the last 15 years has become one of the fastest-changing communities in England. We are a rapidly growing and increasingly diverse borough with huge opportunities for regeneration. We aim to become an inclusive, prosperous and resilient place, whilst remaining committed to ensuring equality of opportunity for all and establishing a 'one borough' sense of community with no resident left behind.
The Council is currently undergoing a radical transformation in the way it approaches the delivery of services and interacts with citizens; driven by reductions in funding from central government and the need to reform services to reflect this new position.
Our transformation programme is ensuring that resources are focused more effectively and that people-focused services will be preventative in focus and address the root causes of problems for families and individuals.
Floating support has a key role to play in delivering this by supporting residents to increase their resilience, resolve their issues early on, reduce demand and generally help people to help themselves.
LBBD is seeking bids from interested organisations offering a flexible and needs-led floating support service that is tailored to individual needs and will support vulnerable groups and those at risk of homelessness to develop skills to sustain their tenancies and to live independently in the community.
