description

Ground Investigation Works Framework Agreement for the Coal Authority (“the Authority”) commencing on 1 August 2015. The Contract duration will be for a period of 4 years.

The agreement is non-exclusive, and individual Works requirements will be instructed on an as and when required basis. The Authority is unable to guarantee the volume and value of allocated work.

The Authority will appoint a minimum of two companies to deliver the framework, subject to this ensuring the full regional coverage required by the framework. Work Packages for individual requirements will be issued using the documentation for the NEC3 Engineering and Construction Short Contract.

The works are to be provided in the coalfield regions, as part of the Authority’s response to surface hazards and for the future development of land and occasionally for the construction of mine water treatment schemes. Investigations may, however, be required for other areas of the Authority’s business and may also potentially be required for works associated with non coal related matters, which could be outside of the regions described.

The objectives and deliverables of the Contract will be to provide the Authority with:

High quality of delivery of investigative works and reporting.
A collaborative approach to delivery of investigative works, focusing on value and continuous improvement, which may require engagements with other Coal Authority providers.
High standards of health and safety and environmental performance.
Delivery of investigation projects using the NEC 3 Conditions of Contract.
