7351 The application of Building Information Modelling (BIM) within a heritage science context

BIM is the widely used acronym for Building Information Modelling and is the process of digitally representing the physical and functional characteristics of a building. Once derived BIM enables the entire project team to collaborate, create and share a single source of data that assists design, construction, facilities & estate management, environmental control & performance and other potential processes. Given the majority of current UK BIM application is focused on new build design and construction, as opposed to existing buildings, this project aims to increase understanding on the application of BIM to historic structures and heritage science focused analysis.
