We are the Contractor for the Cornwall Surface Dressing works and invite you to submit your best tender for the potential subcontract surface dressing works detailed below.

Your price should include the provision of all staff, labour, plant equipment and fuel necessary to complete the works, including all deliveries to site, offloading and transit around site of any materials, plant or equipment. Please note bitumen and stone will be supplied by CORMAC Solutions but the bitumen must be transported by the subcontractor to site from mobile storage tankers located in CORMAC Solutions’ depots. The contractor will also be responsible for the delivery of chippings to site from Cormac chipping landings.

Your tender must be submitted on the basis of current prices and these prices shall remain fixed until the end of October 2016. All the unit rates are fixed and shall not be subject to price fluctuations.

Below is the key information for this work.

  1. Potential commencement date for the works is 25th April 2016 and the approximate total volume of work will be between 300,000-700,000m².
  1. The list of potential sections, designs, traffic management requirements, approximate durations and all other necessary information can be requested.
  1. The tenderer is to be aware that the price submitted is to be held for the duration of the project works. CORMAC Solutions’ decision on how to award and let these scheme(s) will be final.
  1. Cormac will supply suitable traffic management operatives and will dictate the type of traffic management to be used. It is CORMAC Solutions’ policy on surface dressing sites that marshals will be supplied at each end of a road closure to coordinate traffic movements and liaise with the public.
  1. Please note that the ‘normal’ Site working times are 7.00am until 7.00pm Monday to Friday, Saturdays from 7.00am until 7.00pm.
  1. We require you to provide a full time experienced site supervisor for all your daytime works, to promote advanced planning and liaise with our staff. The nominated site supervisor will, at a minimum, need to have undertaken the ‘CITB Health and Safety for Site Supervisors’ course or similar industry recognised accredited courses and have significant experience in the supervision and delivery of surface dressing contracts.
  1. The price is to include the provision of all company and individuals certifications, and approvals, where required, for inclusion in the clients Health and Safety file.
  1. The contractor should allow for a telehandler/JCB or similar suitable plant to load chippings from the appropriate landings.
