Northampton Borough Council is undertaking a market engagement exercise in respect of future Environmental Services to identify the innovation and service improvements that the market can bring to Northampton Borough Council (NBC). The range of services to be included, are set out below:

The above list is not exhaustive and we would like to hear from the market its views and what additional services; empowerment and responsibilities, it considers may need to be included, to enable the Council to realise its aims and objectives.

This exercise will help to identify what options can and should be included within a new service provision, following the expiry of the current contract which ends in June 2018. The Council sees a key requirement of any new partnership, will be the ability to bring increased service performance and standards through innovative thinking and delivery. For example, in relation to increasing recycling participation rates across the whole borough including flats, HIMOs and terraced properties; delivering a more preventative approach to waste generation and cleanliness of streets and open spaces, including education; enforcement; and deployment of new technologies; and working proactively with a range of partners and organisations across the borough. This represents an exciting opportunity for prospective partner organisation(s) to work with Northampton Borough Council in continuing to drive improvements in the standard and cleanliness of all areas of the Borough against the challenges of household growth and transient populations in certain areas of the Borough.
