description

The Natural Capital Ecosystem Assessment programme is Defra's flagship science and innovation programme, which is spilt into two independent programmes focusing on terrestrial and marine. This change programme provides the route to strategic science by combining ecological, economic, and social information to effectively display policy connections, impacts, dependencies, and trade-offs between ambitions. This approach will allow us to establish a multi-dimensional view of our environmental challenges and opportunities, creating a holistic path for nature recovery and advancement, all of which is critical to succeeding in delivering high profile commitments such the 25 Year Environment Plan (25 YEP) and UK Marine Strategy (UKMS). This evaluation will help highlight where elements of the programme can be improved to ensure the outputs of the programme are achieved and implemented effectively with end users as we progress through the three-year programme.
