Contract 17331 HMP Leicester Customer Service and Barista 2020

HMP Leicester would like to commission a Barista and Customer Service Course for our residents who are approaching release. This course should support learners to develop skills and knowledge to gain employment in the hospitality industry upon release.

HMP Leicester is a Cat B Local Establishment with an operational capacity of 411 holding a mixture of remand and convicted prisoners with an average length of stay of approximately 3 months. HMP Leicester also houses a wing of vulnerable prisoners (max cap 32) who live separate from the rest of the population. As part of the reconfiguration of the prison estate the length of stay and type of prisoner may change during the contract. There is no expectation that the learners will discuss their offending behaviour during the course.

The course will be delivered in a classroom in the Learning and Skills Centre at HMP Leicester. The classroom in area will be available Monday - Thursday AM and PM and Friday AM only. The supplier will be required to supply all equipment and machinery to set up this area as a high quality learning environment. This includes providing a coffee cart and coffee machine and accessories required to run the course. The supplier will also be expected to supply all materials required for the course, this includes milk, coffee and cups etc.
