description

This notice relates to pre-procurement market engagement for a Cancer Quality Improvement Service for the Hastings and Rother area.

The buying organisation is NHS Hastings and Rother Clinical Commissioning Group.

The service will liaise closely with Primary Care and General Practice in the Hastings and Rother area, providing additional capacity and expertise over a two-year period. The service will have two main objectives:

  • Improving cancer awareness and early diagnosis rates for health professionals in the Hastings and Rother CCG area;
  • Improving cancer awareness for the public through supporting the delivery of local and national campaigns.

The service will provide support, advice and training to all 33 General Practices in the CCG area on cancer issues with a particular focus on adopting interventions which promote the earlier diagnosis of cancer and improve screening uptake. The service will work closely with the Hastings and Rother GP Cancer Lead to establish and maintain relationships with all GP practices to deliver the service objectives. The service will also work closely with the Hastings and Rother Primary Care Engagement Team and collaborate with Primary Care engagement approaches including, but not limited to, Practice Operational Fora, Localities and Protected Learning Events.

To inform the commissioning process and to clarify the overall service model and detailed service requirements the CCG is engaging with potential providers to assess their capability and interest in delivering the service within the Hastings and Rother CCG area.

Based on the outcome of the engagement the CCG will determine the procurement approach, including whether competitive tendering would be appropriate.

We value the views of potential providers who believe they are able to deliver the required cancer quality improvement service as described in the attached document.

We are particularly interested in the key questions summarised in attached document, and would appreciate responses from bidders who wish to express an interest in being considered for the procurement.

Please complete and return the attached questionnaire by the deadline given in the notice.

The Commissioner is supported in this project by NHS South East CSU (the CSU) and its procurement partner NHS Commercial Solutions (NHSCS), which is managing this procurement.

Additional information: The attached Request For Information (RFI) outlines the commissioner's process for market engagement, describes the service requirements, and includes a questionnaire for potential providers to complete and return to the commissioner.
