Durham County Council is participating in the Government's resettlement support programme, providing resettlement to refugee families within County Durham. Refugees supported under the programme arrive in the UK with 5 years Indefinite Leave to Remain, following which they must apply for status within the UK.
As the scheme is now nearing the end of the first five years of support for the County's first arrivals, individuals will soon be required to apply for status in the UK, including access to specialist legal advice.
