description
HS2 Ltd and Network Rail are working together, with the Department for Transport, to engage with people living around Euston Station, as well as the much broader community of stakeholders including rail / transport and station users, businesses, potential developers and investors, in the vision for the regeneration of the station. Engagement will not, at this stage, take the form of a formal consultation on proposals, but will seek to encourage broad participation in a deliberative “informed conversation”. A detailed engagement plan will invite discussion around the ideas and opinions of local communities and stakeholders on the evolving regeneration proposals for Euston Station and updated proposals that deliver a High Speed Rail Terminus and connectivity at the station and the surrounding areas, including during construction, informed by the framework provided by the recent Euston Area Plan. The joint Euston team is ready to communicate proposals for Euston Station and is required to do so by the Secretary of State, to demonstrate that stakeholders have been engaged in this process. This requires immediate action in order to avoid risk of project delays. There is a pressing requirement to appoint specialists in community engagement who will provide “intelligent support” in developing and delivering this plan.
