description
The Authority’s OH team aims to ensure that employees are fit and remain so in order to undertake their duties safely and effectively, have minimal sickness absence, and achieve maximum retirement age relevant to their pension scheme. However, the Authority accepts that it has a duty to ensure that the health of its employees is not adversely affected by their work, and that employees are fit to return to work following any absence due to illness or injury.
The practitioner will be required to assist the OH team to achieve these aims having regard to the Authority’s duties to its employees and to promote and develop the OH service in response to organisational need.
The contract is for two years with an option to extend for a further two years, commencing 25 May 2016.
The Contractor shall provide the services from the Authority’s OHU at 339 Moseley Road, Highgate, Birmingham B12 0DP or such other premises as the Authority may specify for one and a half days per week, Mondays (half day) and Tuesdays (full day), up to 7 one hour sessions or at such other times as may be agreed by the parties.
Bidders must have £5m public liability and £5m medical malpractice insurance.
The Practitioner must be registered with relevant professional body (e.g.
Nursing & Midwifery Council).
Practitioners should hold a registered healthcare qualification i.e. RMN, OT, Clinical Psychology.
Practitioners should be accredited to or working towards Safe Effective Quality Occupational Health Service (SEQOHS) accreditation.
