Brief description:

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council are recruiting for a courier to help support the Catering Operation at Sandwell Valley Country Park and associated catering units. Reporting to the Catering and Retail Manager the courier will be responsible for the transportation of documents, parcels, goods and equipment to various locations.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work across key sites in Sandwell including Forge Mill Farm, Lightwoods House, Sandwell Valley Visitor Centre and West Smethwick Park.

The successful candidate will:

• Undertake driving duties associated with the provision of a courier service involving the transportation of documents, parcels, goods and equipment as well as official personnel (to include the loading and unloading of such goods and parcels).
• Operate agreed routes.
• Be responsible for the completion of timesheets, logs sheets, vehicle data sheets and any other documentation that may be required.
• Be responsible for any duties associated with the maintenance, cleanliness and use of vehicles under your control.
• Carry out other duties associated with the delivery of the overall Catering and Retail provision.
• At all times to conduct yourself in a pleasant and co-operative approach to customers.

Candidates must possess a full valid driving licence and must be prepared to undertake any necessary, relevant training as required including a Driver Risk Assessment and Driver Assessment.

No DBS is required for this role. Inside IR35.
