To help Bangladesh meet its renewable energy target of 40% by 2040, the UK Government's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) is seeking for an eligible organisation(s) to design and deliver a programme of Technical Assistance to the Sustainable Renewable Energy Development Authority (SREDA) and the Power Division of Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources. This programme is aimed at strengthening SREDA's ability to perform its role as the regulatory authority, supporting SREDA in the following areas;
- Establishment of a 'Wind Lab' in SREDA to support collection, storage, analysis, and use of wind data and related information.
- Development of guidelines for developing the offshore wind sector in Bangladesh
- Capacity development on carbon pricing and trading for SREDA and Power Division
- Support Government of Bangladesh's (GoB) agenda on transforming all irrigation pumps to solar irrigation pumps by review of a unified model developed by SREDA and piloting in different geographical locations.
