description
The service will have a presence in the community to carry out mental health screenings, targeting Waltham Forest Youth at risk of coming into contact with the criminal justice system and a presence at Leyton Custody Suite to facilitate a specific children and young people's Liaison and Diversion service including assessments. It will also provide an informed trauma centred support service to children and young people with either clinical or non-clinical mental health issues. It will improve the uptake of existing services available to children and young people who have come into contact with the criminal justice system and provide intensive outreach support for children and young people and their families/carers who have come into contact with the criminal justice system from assessment through to ensuring young people are treatment ready and are supported to access appropriate services. The service will also be required to support children and young people and their families/carers to transition back into the community from secure estates.
The service will adopt a triage/single point of access into CAMHS, including assessment and if appropriate short evidence-based interventions and work with CYP to ensure they are treatment ready.
