Treatment of Street Sweeping Waste

In pursuance of the Council?s obligations as a waste collection and disposal authority the Council intends through a competitive tender to award a contracts for the provision of Treatment of Street Sweeping Waste. Tenderers will be required to provide a Treatment Site for this waste for the duration of the Services.

The Council may award more than one Contract if it demonstrates value for money to do so and consideration will be given to the proximity principle and the environmental impact of tenders when awarding the Contract(s).

It is planned that the Contract will commence on 25 April 2016 (?the Commencement Date?) and continue for a Term of 1 year, with a right for the Council to extend the Term on one or more occasions up to 24 April 2018.

The key aim of this procurement is securing an outlet which will avoid sending unnecessary waste to landfill, and instead treat and/or recycle Street Sweeping Waste collected as part of the Council?s cleansing operations throughout the district.

Additional information: This tender process will be run using the Council?s e-tendering system, www.supplyingthesouthwest.org.uk. Tenderers are required register an interest via the e-tendering system to view the documents, raise all queries and to submit all completed documentation through this e-tendering system. All submissions must be uploaded onto the system by the deadline date of 12 noon on Monday 7th March 2016. The Council will not consider tenders submitted after the specified deadline.

The tender process is being run through the Supplying the South West Contracts Portal (ProContract). All queries and bids for this tender must be submitted via this e-tendering system.
