Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking to appoint a single supplier or suppliers, or consortium of suppliers acting as a single legal entity, for the provision of Next Generation Broadband infrastructure across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to enable sustainable access to 99% of all premises by not later than the end of 2020. The Connecting Cambridgeshire project is aiming to extend the availability of Next Generation Access (NGA) broadband across Cambridgeshire & Peterborough. Connecting Cambridgeshire has previously invested public funds through one contract, to extend the availability of NGA infrastructure in areas where no commercial plans were in place as verified through State Aid Public Consultations to 97% of the county.Stage 4 is aiming to secure a telecom provider(s) to deploy NGA networks (supporting access line speeds of atleast 30Mbps) to bring total coverage to over 99% by the end of 2020 for the funding envelope that is available. The procurement will follow an Open procedure and with the contract(s) expected to be awarded in November 2018. Please note that the Defra Grant Funding is only available to provide coverage to DEFRA identified premises. It is not general funding available for coverage of any other premises.
Additional information: The total contract value is up to £11,240,000 and includes both available and potential funding. The LOT values of £1,850,578 and £2,649,422 reflects the immediately available funding.
The Authority is utilising an electronic tendering tool to manage this procurement process and communicate with Potential Providers.
There will be no hard copy documents issued to Potential Providers and all communications with The Authority including, submission of Potential Provider responses, will be conducted via The Authority's 'LGSS Procurement Portal (ProContract)
