Acoustic Services - Berryfields 2 Primary School

Additional information: To provide a fee proposal for acoustic services for Berryfields Primary School 2.

This project is to design a 3 form entry primary school with nursery, that would be constructed over two phases. The first phase will accommodate 2 forms of entry (with sectional completion) opening for the first pupils in Sept 2017. The further form of entry would be at a later date.

The Greenfield site of the project is part of the Berryfields housing development. The first primary school serving this community, Berryfields Church of England Primary School, opened in September 2013. There is now the demand for the second primary school.

We are currently at RIBA workstage 1-2. Our team is developing an outline design and producing employer?s requirements for tendering to several contractors at the start of February 2016. The design and build contractor?s team will develop the design from workstage 3. Your appointment would remain with the client as a technical advisor.

The buildings need to be designed to comply with Building Regulations and the latest Design Guidance/Recommendations for the uses and relationships so that the building and spaces are fit for their intended use.

Buckinghamshire County Council requires BREEAM Very Good or better for new buildings so we also need to achieve the following BREEAM credits related to Acoustics:

Hea 05 Acoustic performance

Pol 05 Noise attenuation: Including carrying out a noise impact survey in line with BS 7445 to recommend requirements for plant attenuation measures.

Pol 05 post completion acoustic testing.
