description

This is not call for Competition.

UK Space Agency (UKSA) would like to invite interested providers to attend an Early Engagement Event that will take place in person on 31st January 2024 at Satellite Applications Catapult, Electron Building, Didcot OX11 0QR.

The UK Space Agency inspires and leads the UK in space to benefit our planet and its people. UKSA is an executive agency, sponsored by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology.

Within the UK Space Agency, the Security & Resilience team works across government, and with the sector to promote safety and security from the hazards and threats of operating in the space domain.

Space is increasingly becoming congested, contested and competitive domain both by private and nation-state actors. With the growing capabilities and subsequent societal, economic and security reliance on space systems it is imperative that activities are taken to enhance the safety, security and resilience of the sector.

The Security & Resilience team are holding a Space Security Risk Workshop to which we are inviting all interested parties.

This aim of this event is to bring together representatives from the across the space sector to collaboratively discuss the security risks to commercial space operations and how they could be addressed.

Please see the details around registering for the event in the section "Additional text " below.

Spaces are limited and attendees must register by the Eventbrite page. We ask that organisations limit attendance to one person from their respective organisation.

Please note that to ensure transparency and equal treatment of all capable suppliers in the market, should the requirement progress to the tender stage in the future, findings from this Engagement Session will be shared with all suppliers interested in bidding so no supplier is disadvantaged.

The event will provide opportunities for industry to help inform the Security & Resilience team's priorities in what risks should be addressed and how. This event will consist of a series of interactive sessions in which we are looking to:

1.Develop the Agency's understanding of the current and emerging space system architecture.
2.Enhance the Agency's awareness of the threats to and vulnerabilities of that architecture.
3.Elicit participants' expertise and insights on solutions that could resolve or mitigate the identified vulnerabilities.

The data obtained during this event may lead to and influence a supplier call for a project to develop understanding of or a solution to the security risks identified.

Prospective agenda for the Prior Information Notice Event:

  • Introductions & scene setting
  • Understanding the attack surface
  • Mapping the threatscape and vulnerabilities
  • Addressing the risks
  • Conclusion and next steps

A light lunch and refreshments will be provided as part of the event.

UKSA will not reimburse any costs incurred in connection with the preparation and attendance of the event.
