description

The aims of the project are:

  • To actively seek intelligence from a voluntary organisation about whether care services are meeting required standards of quality and safety, with a focus on gathering the individual experiences of people contacting their helpline over the next six months.
  • To assess the value of the intelligence to CQC in assessing risk and prompting regulatory activity.
  • To increase awareness of CQC and its role as regulator of health and social care services in England and the standards of quality and safety people have a right to expect for themselves and their loved ones.

Voluntary organisations have access to a rich source of qualitative information from the public about the quality and safety of services which could be extremely valuable to CQC’s assessment of and responsiveness to risk. Through a project of this kind we can ensure a managed flow of information which can be tracked and evaluated effectively.
