P9 Uninterrupted Power Supply System and Associated Cubicles - HRS02 Tunnel and Lineside M&E

Costain have been appointed to deliver contract HRS02, the Tunnel and Lineside Mechanical and Electrical services for HS2 ltd. A high-speed railway project that connects London to Birmingham with plans to extend in the future.

Package 9 for the UPS and associated cubicles scope for contract HRS02 consists of supply of UPS systems and the associated batteries and cubicles for the open route sections of the railway, the route being circa 180 km in length, inclusive of;

-UPS System -Batteries for UPS System -UPS and Battery Cubicles -Factory Acceptance Testing

Costain require a supplier for supply only of the UPS and associated batteries and cubicles. Costain and HS2 are looking for innovative and smart solutions that provide benefits in the following key areas;

-Health & Safety

-Programme - Installation and commissioning efficiency -Cost

-Quality and Assurance efficiency

-Whole life cost

-Carbon efficiency

The scope of design and supply will include the following;

-Supply of UPS System -Supply of Batteries for UPS System -Supply of UPS and Battery Cubicles -Provision of samples and mock ups -Factory Acceptance Testing

Full details of the scope and specifications will be provided to the successfully shortlisted suppliers. Suppliers should be aware of the scale of the HS2 project and are to assess their internal capabilities to be able to carry out the intended scope of works prior to completing the expression of interest.
