description
City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council (the Council) is seeking to appoint a suitably experienced and qualified Provider (the Provider) to deliver a Community Equipment Services IT System (the System).
The proposed contract will be for an initial duration of five (5) years with a possible two (2) x twelve (12) months extensions.
The Bradford and Airedale Community Equipment Service (the Service) serves a population of over half a million people.
The Service provides a wide and varied range of nursing and "aids to daily living" equipment e.g. profiling beds, hoists, specialist mattresses, commodes etc. to help support people leaving hospital following discharge or prevent the necessity of a hospital admission. This equipment is provided under a loan agreement remaining the property of BACES. In 2016/2017 the service delivered upwards of 34,000 items therefore it is important to have tracking and traceability.
BACES currently uses a purchased system but is over twelve (12) years old and we a looking to replace this with a fully integrated IT solution
The system is intended to be accessed by (but not limited to)
| • | Approx. Forty (40) BACES staff; and |
| • | In excess of two hundred (200) hospital and community based staff In excess of two hundred (200) hospital and community based staff with flexibility to be active for on line ordering or read only. |
The Service currently operates on part software, part paper processes, the Service seeks to overcome the disadvantages of using a part paper based system by moving to a paperless system with real-time updates, hand held technology for the delivery processes and the barcode scanning of inventory assets both in the warehouse and in the community.
The Service currently has a central warehouse and fourteen (14) satellite stores and a delivery fleet of 11 of vehicles.
