GB-Chelmsford: Waterloo Lane Temporary Car Park Construction

Carry out works and alterations to the outside pool of Riverside Ice and Leisure Centre to form a temporary surface car park. The works is predominately of a ground works nature, with elements of demolition, carpentry, electrical and some specialist work (i.e. Window tinting / Line Marking). Please see the approximate breakdown below. The works programme period will be 6 weeks. The contract may not be awarded until after 4th January 2016.

Approximate Tender Works Breakdown:

• Ground Works (58%) - The bulk of the work is in filling in the pool, forming a retaining wall and concreting to make the surface of the car park (There is also the foundations to the ramp/signs/protective posts and security fence)
• Demolition (20%). The removal of the toilet block, store room and the boundary wall
• Electrical (9%) – Lighting, CCTV and connecting the pay machines
• Carpentry (7%) – Constructing the ramp
• Specialist (Window tinting / Line Marking) (6%)

The tender will be awarded on the basis of 70% Price and 30% Evaluation of suitable method statements as required in the specification.

This project is subject to strict timescales and failure to meet those timescales will result in the application of liquated damages as set out in the specification document.
